A bank guard who can identify bank robbers is shot and left paralyzed and unable to speak. Season 1, Episode 39 (1959) John Bromfield reprises his role from Sheriff of Cochise as Frank Morgan who has been promoted to U.S. Marshal. This episode was directed by a pre-Mash Robert Altman.

The Dick Van Dyke Show was an American television situation comedy which initially aired on CBS from October 3, 1961 to June 1, 1966, created by Carl Reiner and starring Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. Totalling 158 episodes and five seasons, the show was also produced by Reiner, who wrote many episodes and played the part of Alan Brady. Reiner based the main character on himself and the Brady character on his former boss Sid Caesar. Many of the show's plots were inspired by Reiner's experiences as a writer for Your Show of Shows

The Superman production company donated this special 18 minute episode to the US Treasury to help promote school stamp day savings plans to children. This is the only episode of the series that has entered the public domain. It features all of the hallmarks that made the original 1950s Superman series so memorable.
