I thought I would try to balance out all of this nature stuff I have been posting lately with some more electronics. I know I have a certain following now that produce some wonderful techno-centric VJ pieces, so I thought some of these would help.

This free HD stock footage clip offered is my travels along my local expressways at night. This was shot on a Canon Powershot S95 using the CHDK modification to allow it to act as an intervalometer.

Got my hands on a turntable the other day and wanted to offer up a few shots. These videos were shot using a Canon EOS Rebel T2i and a Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX DG Macro Lens.

It took me a while to capture this clip once I decided I wanted to do it. You would be shocked at the sliver of sky this footage actually catches. I had many failed attempts while I waited for the perfect cloud cover. The speed of the clouds passing is also magnified, considering they only pass through a small portion of the frame. It is enhanced by the reflection moving in the opposite direction. Quite tricky, but it was a great chance to test out my circular polarizer.

I was fortunate enough to land myself in New York City a few months ago and managed to bring my camera along. While performing other duties, I managed to grab a few time lapses that I hope would be helpful to some people. This first one at dusk is in Manhattan.

I have been experimenting with a couple of general effects and thought it might be kind of cool to create my own "Light Leak". These videos are used traditionally as an overlay and helps transition between clips. They give a very nostalgic effect to your footage, and really helps those people going for that "instagram" like look in their video. I went about creating it a little differently and stacked 2 lenses to give myself a slight pinhole of exposure. People can now scale the leak to any size as well as position it any way they'd like to get the desired effect.

Ventured into the world of effects the other day and came up with this pretty cool film burn. Normally you would overlay this on whatever video you are working on to give it that old, torn look. You can also preview the burn effect over an example I created using my own stock footage from my blog: Check it out
