Cartoons

All I can say is that this one is a classic. The colors are a little faded, but any copy is better than no copy at all.

This one is a 1946 classic cartoon from one of my encrypted boxes.

This is a banned Talespin cartoon from my collection of banned and censored cartoons. When a group of people work to ban a certain media then part of their heritage is lost as a result. Many types of media I do not agree with, but I do not complain to have it banned. Remember the Soviet Union. They had to basically relearn their own history by going back to books written before the revolution. England knew nothing about their greatest heroes until the French occupation.

Mel-O-Toons sometimes erroneously called "Mello Toons", was a series of animated cartoons produced in 1960 by New World Productions and syndicated by United Artists. It featured various folk tales, Greco-Roman myths, Biblical stories, some original stories by author Thornton Burgess, classic stories, even adaptations of classical music and ballet. The soundtracks were often taken from existing children's records, licensed from the original labels. 104 cartoons, each about 6 minutes long, were produced in limited animation. -From Wikipedia

A rare collaboration between Fleischer Studios and Ub Iwerks resulted in this cartoon, based on the moderately successful Republic Pictures "Zeppelin vs. Pterodactyls" cliffhanger serials. The cartoon was shelved for half a century due to a three way legal dispute between Republic, Fleischer and Iwerks. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences rejected Oscar nominations for Ben Burtt's sound design in the cartoon because it had not been formally released and because of the legal status.

(Public domain cartoon) Was amazed when I watched this 1941 Superman cartoon ("The Mechanical Monsters") and recognized that "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" (2004) copied the opening robot attack almost shot for shot. Same angles, same flying robot design, and even the way they swing their arms while walking.
