Charles Lindberg takes off in the "Spirit Of St. Louis" on the first transatlantic flight, 1927. The trip nearly ended before it began. "Lucky Lindy's" monoplane was so loaded down with fuel that he barely cleared the trees at the end of the runway. This clip was slightly edited from the original.
