Driller Killer (1979)

Abel Ferrara began filming Driller Killer in 1977 and finished the film in 1978, but it was not released until 1979. Then in 1982 the UK distributors of the film, Vipco, took out some full-page advertisements in a number of movie magazines. The advertisements showed the video's violently explicit cover, complaints began flooding into the Advertising Standards Agency, and by 1984 'Video Nasties' were banned in the UK. The Vampire Bat (1933)

The Vampire Bat takes a different route from most other vampire films of its day and there is as much science in the story as their is supertition. In this film though the science is no bad thing because where there is science there is usually a scientist and scientists often need an assitant. In this film the assistant, Ruth Bertin, is played by the lovely Fay Wray who is also the love interest of the local police chief, Karl Brettschneider and when Karl's hands are not full with his investigtion his arms are filled with Ruth. William King Baggot stars in this early dramatization of Robert Louis Stephensonâs classic horror story. Although the script maintains the essence of the original story there are a quite a few differences. In this version, for instance, Jekyll is romantically involved with a woman named Alice. White Zombie is often described as being the first ever zombie movie. It is about a young couple who go to visit an acquaintance who lives in Haiti. Unfortunately the the girl is so attractive that she turns the head of a local Voodoo master, played by Bela Lugosi, who wants her for himself, so he turns her into a zombie.
