"The Man Without a Country" (1917) starring Florence La Badie

"The Man Without a Country" is a drama, featuring Florence La Badie, a star of Silent Hall of Fame.

This was last film of Florence La Badie - she died 34 days after the film's release as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.  She was only 29.

Florence La Badie plays an outstanding role in this film.  There is one particularly memorable scene, in which she publicly defies her fiance to choose between wearing a patriotic pin instead of being a pacifist and getting back her engagement ring.  Florence La Badie does all this in the midst of a pacifist crowd and further shocks all present by declaring that whoever does not support the US soldiers is an enemy.

We also fight for your right, the right of the public, to see silent masterpieces that have been kept in hidden vaults for far too long. Our website streams for free one such masterpiece that has not been seen in 85 years and is not available anywhere else.

Please visit our website to watch quality silent films absolutely free and to support the legacy of silent movie stars with your tax deductible contribution.

Please spread the word about Hall of Fame and help your favorite silent star receive belated recognition and glory.
