"Beatrice Fairfax" Ep. 10 (1916) featuring Olive Thomas

"Beatrice Fairfax" is a crime series, from which a single episode is included in our program to illustrate the work and contributions of Olive Thomas, a star of Silent Hall of Fame.

"Beatrice Fairfax" consists of 15 self-contained stories.  The main character (Grace Darling) is a crime-fighting lady in a newspaper advice column, who solves her readers' problems.

This is episode 10, entitled "Play Ball!".  A certain gambler wishes to make a big gain in a baseball bet by eliminating the star player of the team favored to win.

Olive Thomas plays Rita Malone, the girlfriend of the baseball player.  This was her first movie role ever, so we can see the very beginning of her illustrious career, which was cut short by her untimely death in 1920 at the age of 25.

Silent Hall of Fame is the only place where we actively work to bring back from oblivion the names and legacy of formerly illustrious silent movie stars, which have made a major contribution to the industry and the world but do not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

We also fight for your right, the right of the public, to see silent masterpieces that have been kept in hidden vaults for far too long. Our website streams for free one such masterpiece that has not been seen in 85 years and is not available anywhere else.

Please visit our website to watch quality silent films absolutely free and to support the legacy of silent movie stars with your tax deductible contribution.

Please spread the word about Hall of Fame and help your favorite silent star receive belated recognition and glory.
