Ali Baba senior and his son Ali Baba live in poverty. One day they happen to see the Forty Thieves enter their cave. After the thieves leave, Ali Baba and his son enter the cave and start to fill their pockets with the treasure they find inside.

This lovely sand animation was created from Hebrew calligraphy by Gil Omry, as part of Lauren Hartman’s play "Out of Me and Into You."

The letters used in this short fell off a movie theater marquee one Sunday afternoon in the fall of 1998. Theyâd originally been part of some grand, meaningful words, but now they were stranded and helpless. So I gave them a new home.
