| Mel-o-toonsMel-O-Toons sometimes erroneously called "Mello Toons", was a series of animated cartoons produced in 1960 by New World Productions and syndicated by United Artists. It featured various folk tales, Greco-Roman myths, Biblical stories, some original stories by author Thornton Burgess, classic stories, even adaptations of classical music and ballet. The soundtracks were often taken from existing children's records, licensed from the original labels. 104 cartoons, each about 6 minutes long, were produced in limited animation. | |
| Tatlin, Klebnikov, Flaus, David CoxMade as an exercise in my animation class at Swinburne University in 1990, TATLIN is a rumination on the life & work of Vladimir Tatlin. The poem you hear is read by John Flaus, and was written by Velimir Klebnikov, whose description of Tatlin as 'one of the order of sun-catchers' was apt indeed. The models and puppet of Tatlin were built on a tabletop and filmed with a Bolex camera over a period of several weeks.
